Inspired by living in India and her travels through Goa, Rajasthan and Jaipur, Julz created Valiánte after returning and spending her summer back in Montauk. The label reflects the coastal lifestyle she loves, colors, people, mystery and landscape of these exotic places and Julz’s passion for travel. Valiánte is seasonless, resort style dressing, featuring handloomed modern kaftans, dresses and blouses made from fine cottons and light weight voiles. The brand uses uniquely designed prints and embroideries with a coastal Australian feel, each piece focuses on ease of form and fit. We work exclusively with small village factories in India, continuously taking a more ethical and sustainable approach. Valiánte is for the women who love to travel to exotic destinations and are always researching their next vacation. It can be holiday wear all year round. Australian born and bred, Julz Valiant and her young family relocated from the beachside suburb of Bondi, Sydney to New York 14 years ago, looking for new career opportunities. As a New Yorker every summer Julz and her family would spend their weekends on the most easterly point of Montauk with friends. Montauks laid back beach vibe was very reminiscent of home. Having worked in fashion for over two decades, both as a designer and director, Julz has lent her expertise to iconic brands such as: Urban Outfitters, GAP, Quiksilver, Osh Kosh B’Gosh, Ksubi, Forever21 & Mambo. After embarked on yet another adventure, traveling and living in India for six months. The family then relocated to Los Angeles, settling into the culturally iconic neighborhood of Laurel Canyon.
